Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, who stole the hearts of many with his performance in Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp season 1, is currently in Bigg Boss 17. His bond with Mannara Chopra and Ankita Lokhande in the house is being loved by the audience. While he refrains from talking about his personal life on the reality shows, on Sunday, he broke down after watching a special video message from his son.

In the recent Diwali special episode of the Weekend Ka Vaar, the housemates were in for a surprise when video messages by their families were played in the house. Comedian couple Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa has asked the contestants to vote for their fellow housemates, who would receive special messages from their family members. In the task, Munawar, Ankita Lokhande and Jigna Vora got selected. In the video, which is now doing the rounds on social media, the comedian is seen getting emotional as he sees his 5-year-old on the screen. Quoted by The Times Of India, his son is heard saying, “Kaise ho papa. Main aapko roz dekhta hu. Papa tum bahut achha khelte ho. Trophy jeet ke aana.” Not only does Munawar break down in tears but his housemates starts commenting on how the son is his carbon copy. For those who don’t know, Faruqui was married to Jasmin, at a very young age, reportedly in an arranged marriage set up. However, things fell apart quickly between them and they got separated legally in 2022. The ex-couple had a son together, whose custody is handled by the comedian. Talking about his son, in one of the previous Bigg Boss 17 episodes, Munawar said, “My ex-wife is married now, and I have custody of my son. He is 5 years old. When he came back to me six months ago after I got custody, I realised what I was missing. Finally, I have him with me now. I have connected with him so much in the past 3-4 months.” 


Hosted by Salman Khan, this time the house is divided into 3 sections - Dil (heart), Dimaag (intelligence) and Dum (strength). Contestants have been put in different rooms. Isha Malviya, Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhatt, Anurag Dobhal aka UK07 Rider, Samarth Jurel, Arun Mashettey, Navid Sole, Jigna Vora, Soniya Bansal, Sana Raees Khan, Munawar Faruqui, Abhishek Kumar, Tehelka Prank, Rinku Dhawan and Firoza Khan aka Khanzaadi are the contestants of the current season.
